We've just received an alert from ELL. It caught my eye because it is for Good Humor Sherbet, which is related to Breyer's ice cream, a brand many food allergic families consider to be safe! A boy suffered an anaphylactic reaction to peanut allergen in rainbow sherbet. Visit http://ellfoundation.org/ and click on Allergy Incident Report to view the ELL incident report.

Gosh, this is so scary! Thanks for the info....I guess like we emailed about previously, no ice cream is probably "safe" since there is a nut flavor made by everyone....For sure I will not be buying anything made by Breyers and Good Humor.
Thanks for the comment, Katie. I have to say, when I read this incident report, i said to myself, "See. You were right to insist on making your own ice cream." I know accidents will happen, but I just can't chance it for a scoop of ice cream. Ironically, today, my son's preschool had an ice cream sundae party to celebrate the 100th day of school. The teacher planned the decorations with me so we could get decorations (sprinkles, hot fudge) that are safe for my son and the one boy who eats Kosher. People are always surprised when I say we don't buy Breyers or any brand, but our first significant reaction was with ice cream and it's hard to forget.
