You heard right. After receiving multiple requests from customers for gingerbread houses that are egg-free and dairy-free in addition to being peanut-free and nut-free, A & J Bakery is now offering gingerbread houses and gingerbread house kits free of all four of those allergens.
This has been quite a week here on Food Allergy Buzz. It's been one piece of good news after another. Who would think that there are so many foods and activities to enjoy allergen-free?

Aside from soy lecithin in the chocolate they are soy free too! The manager of the bakery, Joe, confirmed this for me yesterday!
Because of the soy lecithin (I think), I noticed tonight that they state that the gingerbread house contains soy.
You have made my day with this news. Thank you!
Does anyone have a recipe for the stiff gingerbread house icing without egg? Can I mix cream of tartar with regular icing? Doing a craft for my son's school...
I found a recipe at http://www.recipelink.com/mf/21/6099. It was submitted in response to someone looking for eggless royal icing for a gingerbread house. Maybe it will work? Anyone have any other suggestions?
"My Three year old is allergic to egg also, I am going to try this for our ginger bread house.
EGGLESS ROYAL ICING
4 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup warm water
