What a week! Exciting things seem to be happening every day here. Yesterday afternoon, we made a quick trip to Hannaford Supermarket to buy 2 boxes of Cherrybrook Kitchen's mini fudge brownie cookies. It's my younger child's birthday and the preschool permits families to bring a snack in store packaging to share. These cookies are so tasty, I am sure the rest of the kids won't even notice that eggs, dairy, peanuts and tree nuts are missing.
I found something else while I was there. On the very bottom shelf, nearly hidden by the Sugar in the Raw boxes, were a few tubs of Cherrybrook Kitchen's ready to spread frosting! What a find! Sometimes I have trouble finding their cake mixes at the supermarkets in my area. I felt like I hit the jackpot, so I bought a few. I am so glad the store is carrying them. We haven't tried the frostings yet but with the birthday next week, I am sure we'll have ample opportunity to test them. By the way, they are available for purchase on the Cherrybrook Kitchen website too!
I hope you can see the photo clearly and the wording on the bottom, "dairy-free", "gluten-free", "peanut-free", etc. I'll try to get a clear photo later of the clearly worded statement about cross-contamination protocol. Here's what it says: "Cherrybrook Kitchen frostings are prepared on dedicated equipment that does not produce dairy, egg, or gluten products. We have strict manufacturing protocols and we test for the presence of peanuts, dairy, eggs, and gluten. Our peanut- and tree nut-free facility eliminates concerns of cross contamination." It's music to my ears!

I found this place that sells all kind of Gluten Free food and snacks. www.WholeAndNatural.com. I had a great experience with them the last few times. Thanks to them I can have lots of yummy treats.
jenn, thanks for the tip. Isn't it great when you find a good store?!
I love CherryBrook Kitchen. They totally "get it."
Thanks for the tip about the frosting!! Now when other moms ask me about safe frosting, I have a brand name to give them.

Thanks allergy life in loudoun and Jenny for the comments (and bday wishes). You know how birthdays are when you're five. It's more like a birthday week; but what fun! :)
