With voluntary allergen labeling still under discussion and no standardized definitions for labeling food as "free" of a particular allergen, food shopping continues to be a complex endeavor for those shopping for restricted diets. Take a look at Threshold values for allergenic ingredients in food needed which addresses this subject following a recent meeting in Berlin. Perhaps when those thresholds are set in Europe, the U.S. and Canada may follow suit.
