How many of you have the eczema, asthma and allergy trio? There was an article in the Boston Globe today regarding the elimination of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) as a propellant in asthma inhalers which may be of interest to you: Do the new asthma inhalers work as well as the old ones? Have you tried the new inhalers yet? Is it like going from regular Sudafed to Sudafed PE? I suppose my family will not notice the elimination of CFC's since we have only used the nebulizer in the past and just recently received an inhaler for use at school.
With regard to eczema, we use hydrated petrolatum but I have heard good things about Vanicream. I recall reading about it somewhere online as well. Apparently, it is easier to apply than hydrated petrolatum and feels more comfortable. What do you use for a moisturizer for eczema, and are you satisfied with it? Which moisturizing products have you tried and rejected?

Love Cereve and Aquaphor. Prescription hydrocortisone in ointment form is best, too.
Have also tried Eucerin. Cereve works much better for my son.
I love Cerave too. Both the cream for winter and the lotion for warmer summer months or skin that looks OK. Works better and seems to let his skin breathe and be comfortable.
The new regulations have left a large portion of individuals with either a corn or alcohol allergy with no emergency inhalers. These new ones will literally kill us.
My daughter is 18 now and still deals with eczema, asthma and allergies, although the asthma has improved. Her eczema is much better when she avoids dairy products and gluten, but unfortunately she has moved out on her own and tends to eat a lot of foods she shouldn't, so the eczema is getting pretty bad again. She has yet to find a moisturizer that really works well for her.
For severe eczema
"Eucerin in the tub" along with elocon works the best! I have had eczema all my life, and as a kid these worked the best. Best to apply the eucerin cream first (quite thick) then apply the elocon on top where needed-this way it does not burn. This works really well before bed, when you wake up your skin will feel much better!
We use Vanicream, along with prescriptions for Epiceram and Desonide. We really like Vanicream. Can be hard to find in drugstores.
